A Month Already

So it's been a month and nothing has changed. Except I learned a lot. For instance, I was thinking about joining a club -- Curves or something like that but realized that I need a better commitment than that. I have to get out and walk. End of story.

It's easy. Put on my watch with the timer, set it for 10 minutes, put on my boots and go! When the timer rings, turn around, reset the time and come back home.

Cut back on portions and eat as many of the top 10 foods as I can:

  1. Blueberries
  2. Broccoli
  3. Spinach
  4. Red bell peppers
  5. Lentils
  6. Walnuts
  7. Sweet Potatoes
  8. Cantaloupe
  9. Oranges
  10. Yogurt

Eat Less, Move More

Perry reminded me of this video when I talked to him about it. We were eating Christmas leftovers and I told him my plan for getting my life in order and my body in shape. I said, I know it is easy. Eat less. End of story. He added, and move more.

Lose Along with Me -- The Starting Point

That's me on the left. believe it or not, I thought I looked husky but not completely out of shape. This photo was taken in May 2010 and I just saw it this week.

Of course, at the time I also thought I was happy in a relationship and in control of my own life and future.

I was wrong on all counts. This blog is my journey out of the mess my life had become. Rather than join Weight Watchers or go on a diet program or join a gym or a dating site or whatever it is that people do to create a new life, I decided to get to the root of the problem.
